Plants have nutritional needs to grow healthy and strong, just like humans do. Annuals especially needs extra nutrients to thrive and survive, so yes, it’s a good idea to use organic growth on annuals if you want to see them live strong for a long time.
Why Use Organic Growth?
Organic growth, or organic fertilizer, has a slower release for plants that are unable to produce flowers or growth at a fast rate. This is not the same thing as adding a supplemental fertilizer like a slow release one that you add at the beginning of the growing season. We are talking about using natural organic matter to make the best soil conditions for your plants.
When it comes to annuals, organic growth should be used three to four times per season. If you can use a combined mix of organic growths, even better, because the extra boost of nutrients will really begin to show after a while of using them.
Keep in mind that you should be using the combined mix, or just one, of organic growth during early spring, then again during the middle of summer. If you feel that more treatment may be necessary on your annuals with organic growth, then try it out. However, ensure that you use small amounts if you plan on doing this method more than twice per season. Too much is sometimes just that, too much. If they are not blooming as they should be, try it one more time.
Organic Growth and Annuals
Remember to follow proper instructions when using organic growth on your annuals, so you do not cause any damage. Remember that sometimes too much is literally too much, so pay attention to their overall growth progress.
